SACRIFICE

Arthur kicked Rose again, as if using her as a play object. Red-Eye, was watching all this, and laughing. “What a show you’re putting up, girl! Keep it up! I thought that capturing you all would be a dry task, but things are getting way more interesting,” he said.

“You bastard! Stop using Arthur like a puppet. And dare you do one more thing to Rose. When I’m out of this prison, you’re gonna be terribly sorry,” said Jaden, in a scary voice. Immediately, Red-Eye started shaking in his boots. He had never felt this scared in his lifetime. It was as if Jaden’s voice was inside his head.

But Red-Eye brought himself back. He shook off his fear and concentrated on Rose. Red-Eye thought, “Even though Jaden had been acting all scary, he wouldn’t be able to do a thing until he was in that cage.” This gave Red-Eye some relief from his fear. (I don’t know how Jaden pulled off this trick. But Jaden didn’t know that his voice was scaring Red-Eye, because he stopped calling Red-Eye names)

Now, Red-Eye had become really frustrated. He was at his limits of boredom. He ordered Arthur to finish off Rose once and for all. Arthur brought out his flute. It seemed as if he was getting ready for his final assault. He transformed his flute into ‘The Living Scorpion’. Oops! Arthur was very, very, very serious. “Adieu, Rose. Say bye to your dear friends. ‘Cos they are never gonna see you again,” Arthur said.

Rose had to do that thing now. For killing Red-Eye, she had to sacrifice herself. She brought forth her scissors. She never imagined that she would be using this weapon. But she had no other alternative. This was her final chance of saving her friends.

Arthur was gradually moving towards Rose, totally carefree. Rose was trembling in fear and her hands were shaking. Not because of Arthur or Red-Eye, but because of the scissors she was holding. But she raised her hand and shouted at the top of her voice, “Hey, Scissor God, help me. I’m willing to trade with you. I am going to give you my left arm, but please save my friends. For that, please stab Red-Eye with your magical power. Please. Accept this sacrifice.”

Frank and Jaden didn’t understand much of what Rose said, but what they did understand was that Rose was going to sacrifice herself. They cried out, “Rose, you can’t give up like this. I know you can find a way out of this. Please don’t lose hope.” She turned towards them, and they saw a tear flowing down her cheek. She managed a smile. “Friends, I’m going to die anyway. If I can save you and Arthur in exchange of my life, I will be more than happy,” she said.

Yeah, now I have to tell my fellow readers about the scissors. Oh sorry. I thought I was alone and thus, was talking to myself. I didn’t know that you were here too. Ok, so now that you are here with me, let me tell you about this weapon that Rose has.
